Stan Winston died Sunday evening, with the cause of death appearantly being cancer. Winston was a complete and total genius when it came to special visual effects and make up, and has won 4 Academy Awards for his work on Aliens, Terminator 2 and Jurassic Park, but his c.v. is comprised of a show reel that would make a grown man cry, including the likes of Predator, The Thing, Congo, Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns, Pearl Harbour, Galaxy Quest, End Of Days, Lake Placid, A.I., Constantine, Iron Man as well as the upcoming Termintor 4 and James Cameron’s Avatar.
The film world has lost an absolute legend, and our condolences go to his family, his friends and many, many fans.
