This Is The Face Of Comedy

Appearantly, anyways. On top of this years Ghost Town, which looks like a more straight-laced comedy version of The Frighteners, over the next 12 months we have Night At The Museum 2, the film version of his own books Flanimals, and then, most interestingly, his Hollywood directorial debut.

This Side Of The Truth has a truly fantastic premise. Essentially, the story is about a contemporary, fictitious society that is built on absolute truth-telling. No one lies, ever. That is until Mark (Gervais) breaks the mold one evening, telling the slightest of lies. Of course, this scenario snowballs and Mark uses his societal side-stepping to his advantage in all manner of ways.

Although Gervias has yet to make a splash stateside the way he has done in his homeland, the fact that he wrote and is directing this feature has attracted a stellar cast, including Jennifer Garner, Rob Lowe, Jonah Hill, Tina Fey, Christopher Guest, Louis C.K., John Hodgman, Jeffrey Tambor and appearantly more and more every day.

Its not due out til the 2nd quarter of 2009, but still, paint us excited!
