Ever since completing Alien: Resurrection and it received a pretty much universal panning from everyone, Sigourney Weaver has always stated that she would be willing to return to the franchise, but only if director of the 1979 original Ridley Scott would also return to the franchise.
And Ridley Scott himself, despite being 71 now and with his current directorial plate being full with the likes of Body Of Lies, Nottingham and Blood Meridian, has also flirted with the idea of returning to the sci-fi staple that made his name.
That was up until a recent MTV interview with Weaver , where she stated:
“Fox has effectively killed it because of Alien vs. Predator. What else can you do with the creature? You can take the situation, you can go back to where they came from. …To play someone who ages a couple hundred years was fascinating. [But] let [Ripley] rest.”
So thats that. Very depressing, non?
